Event Information

Northern Athletics 12 & 6 Stage Road Relay Championships 2010

Sunday 21st March at Wythenshawe Park, Manchester. The Men’s event will commence at 11.30am and the Women’s at 11.35am.
Parking

Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside clubs must park in the event car park, just inside the park entrance and opposite the bowls and golf course, various paths lead to the Athletics facility and sports fields.
Yorkshire and Humberside, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and the North East clubs must park in the throws field adjacent to the track. If full then there are plenty of parking spaces within the park at the event car park.
Please note that this cuts across the course route once, to gain access to the field, the Officials and minibus parking area is near by in the facility.
Mini-buses and officials only in the athletics facility car park, as this is shared with footballers.
Changing facilities
Male toilets, and changing are in the quadrant building in the car park, shared with footballers. Female toilets and changing in the track area building and adjacent field portaloos.
RegistrationRegistration will be at the stadium and will be signposted. Please ensure that the numbers for your club are collected by the Team Manager who should then distribute the numbers amongst the club athletes. Please ensure that the correct stage numbers are distributed to each of your athletes. Long legs will be 1,3,5,7,9,11.
Please ensure that your team manager has given details of an email contact address for your club.

In order that the end of the event does not exceed a reasonable time, as the 11th leg starts will all Team Managers, with their Team members who have not yet run their legs (except for those that are due to start their leg), please report to the Referee and Chief Timekeeper, at the start area to assess if a mass start needs to be co-ordinated for the remaining runners

Only clubs completing the Northern 12 Stage Road Relay Championship will be nominated for entry to the A.A. of England 12 Stage event. The first 25 teams (including ‘B’ but not ‘C’ teams) to finish in the Northern event will be guaranteed places. Entry information will be supplied by email on Monday afternoon - Team Managers from qualifying clubs must ensure that the Northern athletics office or Ken Smith have
their valid email address.
Please note that all entries MUST be made using the online system at
www.race-results.co.uk/results/2010 BEFORE 7P.M. WEDNESDAY 7TH APRILAll paid-up athletes are now offered for fast two-click entry.
Postal entries will not be accepted.

Travel Directions

Wythenshawe Park, Wythenshawe Road, Manchester, M23 0AB.
• By road: Leave M60 at Junction 5, or M56 Junction 3 (onto Princess Parkway).
• By bus: Bus 101 from Princess Parkway (heading from City Centre).
• Bus 179 along Altrincham Road (from Stockport direction).
• Bus 370 from Didsbury along Wythenshawe Road, or from Altrincham Interchange along Wythenshawe Road.
• Bus stops are located nearby on Princess Parkway,  
Wythenshawe Road and Altrincham Road.

The Athletics Facility entrance is 300 metres further along Wythenshawe Road B5167 from the main park entrance, with parking adjacent, and overspill in the throws field.
The main entrance to the Park is off Wythenshawe Road for the Hall and most other facilities, with the
Parking at the Athletics Facility.
