Knowsley Safari Park

NA XC Championships – Sat 28th Jan 2017

Due to recent road works opposite the entrance to Knowsley Safari Park the dual carriage way has been reduced to 1 (ONE) lane.

The local authority – Knowsley MBC are working with the Safari Park and the contractor to put in places measures inside and outside the Park which will help manage the traffic flow into the event.

It is advisable for all attending the event to allow extra time to enter the Safari Park.

Lost children must be taken to the PA area and will only be allowed to leave once staff are satisfied that responsibility has been established

The site is fully accessible to people with disabilities, the course is not. This is due to the undulating topography of the cross-country course, the main toilet block that are fully accessible are located by the restaurant near to the main car park, and there are others

approx. 150m before the course. In addition there are additional toilets on the road leading to the Safari Drive

Please ensure that all mobility vehicles (eg wheelchairs) remain on paths and walkways at all times.

Athletes should both bring and wear suitable clothing and footwear.

A specific site for club tents will be situated near to the start area and will be cordoned off

Travel Directions
Access to the site is via the dual carriageway (A58) towards St Helens and is easily accessible via Jct 2 of the M57 motorway. If travelling from the North or North East most probably you would travel down the M62 to Jct 6 (M57) and follow the above directions. Knowsley Safari Park is signposted from Jct 2 of the M57

Since the 1st of June 2015, pet dogs haven’t been allowed in any areas of the safari park. They do however provide basic accommodation for your dog should you wish to bring them on your trip.
Assistance dogs are allowed access to pedestrian areas but not the animal areas. They are not allowed in the safari drive for safety reasons.
Please see link re kennels etc :
